The project involved a conceptual redesign of existing ROYCE’ retail outlets in the new format of a retail kiosk layout. The mall guidelines didnt permit the height to exceed 14000mm above mall level flooring which creates a challenge for sight lines and attracting customers to the location as well as product lighting.
As in previous retail store designs, space, material, light, balance, form and color become integral to generating a sophisticated design palette. A space is created that articulates a dialogue between a series of structural, fluid and compositional layers in an extremely compact and efficient footprint. The chocolate brand itself appears understated and simple but the experience complex, layered and rich. Challenges included accommodating extensive refrigeration equipment requirements along with uncluttered customer experience area all within a compact 584 sq.ft. footprint.
