Vivarea Welfare Center
2018-2023
Vivarea Condominum, Mumbai
The project scope involved the architectural and interior design of a 30,000 sq.ft. residential amenity project located at Vivarea Residential complex near Jacobs Circle in South Mumbai. The project is located above an existing podium and connected to the new fifth residential tower through a dedicated lobby. This posed a challenge as existing structural and MEP designs were already in place and had to be accommodated within the design concept. Also, municipal regulations restricted areas and heights of structures. The design brief implied providing a new and contemporary aesthetic and organisation to programs but also a strong relationship to the existing project which already consists of four existing residential towers and a clubhouse program.
Several concepts were proposed but finally a design theme which resonated a timelessness and simplicity of material and form was chosen. Within these parameters, we played with space volumes and positioned programs to create a seamless flow for the residents. A large landscaped area on the podium also helped in creating an open and environmentally connected series of spaces using landscape elements such as trees, pergolas, lawns and terraces. The materials used lend a deep and mature palette to the various spaces and also align with the clients core requirement of provided a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic.
The program comprised of Elevator Foyer, Prefunction Area, Multipurpose Hall, Salon & Spa, Theater, Indoor Sports Area, Toddlers Area, Barbecue Terrace, Fitness Bar, Squash Court, Badminton Court, Gymnasium, Yoga Terrace along with restrooms, kitchen and other support facilities.
