The project examines issues surrounding the most desired human habitat: the Home. In theory, it is composed of many singular ideas but through their common assembly transform into one large conceptual, monumental and collective thought challenging the prevalent stratification and segregation that plagues society. ‘HOME’ takes form through assembling multiple ideas into one monumental , conceptual and spatial form as a collection of individual perspectives and desires. Notions of centrality, familiarity, the local, the native, family, aspirations, comfort and also their counterparts of insecurity, displacement, commodification, diverse economic values, possession and temporality play together in a collective memory of images, models, photographs and drawings. Narratives, knowledge, collection, memory, continuous interpretations and inferences between the drawings and objects assembled force the viewer to re-imagine and interpret forms of domicile we encounter in our contemporary context across cultures. The work resembles a menagerie of built forms, images and suggestions about the relationships we all have with the most familiar places from our past and present but also creates a space for expansion, redirection and new productions questioning what the future of how we live should and could be.
